MEDIATEK HELIO G70 for middle smartphone, improving game possibility
MediaTek has quietly introduced a new chipset Helio G70. As the name implies, this chip is located under the dual Helio G90 and G90T.
Because of the Helio G-series, Helio G70 aims to provide gaming capabilities on low-end smartphones. Rumors suggest that Xiaomi Redmi 9 may be one of the first phones to feature this new Helio G70 processor.
Specifications of MediaTek Helio G70
Helio G70 has 8 processor cores, including 4 Cortex A75 cores operating at 2GHz and 4 Cortex A55 cores with 1.7GHz. This SoC will be accompanied by the Mali-G52 2EEMC2 820MHz GPU. With this graphics processor, smartphones using Helio G70 can reach a maximum resolution of 1080x2520px. In addition, it also supports up to 8GB LPDDR4x 1800MHz RAM and 5.1 eMMC memory.
In terms of connectivity, Helio G70 supports 4G network, Wi-Fi 5 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.0. This SoC supports a single camera with up to 48MP resolution or dual 16MP + 16MP dual camera system with 30fps video recording capability. Other camera-related features include FaceID, rolling shutter compensation (RSC), bokeh for single cameras, bokeh for dual cameras, and AI-based smart photo albums. The chip also has a built-in Voice on Wakeup feature that optimizes the voice assistant's performance with lower power consumption. In addition, HyperEngine Game Technology also ensures a faster and smoother gaming experience. The chip also supports intelligent resource and network management while gaming.
On the other hand, the Redmi 9 may be one of the first smartphones to use Helio G70. Rumors suggest that the Redmi 9 will have a 6.6-inch screen and a notch-less design. The device will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. Xiaomi will also launch more variants for this phone. They will run MIUI 11, based on Android 10 right out of the box. As expected, the Redmi 9 will be announced in the first quarter of this year.
